Beachdown Cancelled
Posted by: LisaE 27/08/2009 @ 18:12 In festival circles, yesterday was a memorable day but for all the wrong reasons. Another summer music festival had bitten the dust. As the ‘Beachdown Cancelled’ headlines have stacked up disappointed festival goers, suppliers, bands and ticket outlets have been left counting the cost. With Beachdown cancelled, the marquees have been dismantled, the site is being completely cleared, the organisers have gone to ground and Sussex Police and the local authorities have stated that no access will be granted to the site. Instead of shiny, happy Beachdown Festival goers, a round the clock police presence will be in place throughout the Bank Holiday weekend with the sole purpose of turning away any disappointed festival goers who haven’t already heard the bad news.

Valentines Day at Brighton Clubs
Posted by: LisaE 12/02/2009 @ 22:41
Ah, 14th February. Quite possibly the most high maintenance date of the year. One of the hottest rated bands to come out of Britain to date is The Guillemots (sorry, I mean gUiLLeMoTs). A personal favourite of mine, they’ve gone from strength to strength since they formed in late 2004. With a plethora of hits, including Trains to Brazil, which was an Itunes Single of the Week, celebrity fans that include Sir Paul McCartney, and a Brit nomination under their belt the future looks very rosy indeed for this talented band.

Great Escape Festival Hits And We're Not Going Anywhere
Posted by: LisaE 16/04/2008 @ 12:30 If you’re anything like us you’ve done all your favourite Brighton clubs to death and you’re starting to feel restless. After all, the nights are getting longer, they’re definitely lighter and at some point the weather has got to start improving too. In fact, it’s finally starting to feel like summer is just around the corner. And we want clubbing and gigging with a difference. Thankfully, the Great Escape Festival is going to kick off just in time and we can’t wait.
As we speak, over 200 new local and international artists are warming up their vocal cords, tuning their guitars and choosing their outfits ready for the start of the Great Escape Festival on 15th May. The three-dayer is taking place over even more venues this year – at the last count 25 – and we’re already resting up ready for three days of non-stop partying.
