The ViewBrighton Review
Audio is a really popular and bustling bar and club on Brighton’s Marine Parade. Nestled in the heart of the run of bars and clubs along this particular stretch just set back from the seafront, Audio’s chilled atmosphere and large outdoor area scoops in passers-by in addition to its many regular faces. The VenueAudio comprises of three parts; the outdoor seating perfect for those balmy summer nights, the bar inside on the ground floor level and the downstairs club. The bar has a relaxed feel to it and plays a mix of chart music and funky house as you'd expect from a decent pre-club bar. However, when the bar closes at 2am chances are you won't be quite ready to go home so head down to the club which is open until 4am.
The club offers a large open space in addition to the all-important seating and the air conditioning is an added bonus especially for Brighton's more energetic dancers who in other clubs find themselves showering sprays of sweat droplets around the dancefloor.
The PeopleThe city's scenesters drop by Audio every week on the nights dedicated to their music du jour, greeting everyone by name and beaming from ear to ear from beginning to end. Audio as an in-the-know, friendly feel that's a credit to the staff and the clubbers themselves.
The MusicDepending on what night you go the music ranges from indie rock to drum and bass, so pick the night that takes your fancy before heading to Audio otherwise your indie soul could be drowned in a sea of electro beats, and vice versa. Not a pretty experience.
The DrinkDon't leave Audio without sampling the delicious cocktails. Ok, so you may have to shield your drink from some over zealous arm flailers but the time taken will be worth it. Whether it's a White Russian overflowing with double cream and ice cream or a Fruity Flirting the cocktail list will tickle every bar fly's fancy and add extra energy to an already fun night out.
The Last WordWhether you are looking to enjoy a quick, quiet drink in the outdoor area or a big night out in the club, Audio won’t disappoint thanks to its unpretentious atmosphere and its diverse music policy.
