The ViewBrighton Review
One of Brighton’s most famous clubs puts the emphasis on dancing rather than coupling, and that’s just how the punters like it.The VenueIts size screams warehouse but the honeyclub is much more than that. It offers a smudge of luxury that keeps the glossy crowd in the manner that they've become accustomed yet is still gritty enough to feel like a proper club. Its location couldn't be more ideal either. Occupying a sizeable site at the end of the strecth of seafront clubs, now that the legendary Zap is no more, this is the daddy of Brighton house music clubs.
The PeopleThe majority of the thousands of clubbers who gravitate to the honeyclub week after week, pack the dancefloor throwing shapes that put many of the club's professional dancers to shame. Located on the seafront, the honeyclub is what full-on Brighton clubbing is all about - the DJs are gods and the crowd are a loud and proud mix of gay and straight, flamboyant and groomed, tanned and toned. Locals and out of towners dance, dance, dance and sweat, sweat, sweat all night long and they still cry out for more when the lights go up and the DJ has safely packed away all the vinyl.
The MusicExcellent DJs, multi-floored parties and diverse club nights entice hetero, homo and polysexuals alike, getting their groove on to house and dance music for as long as they can ride the Red Bull. This is your place if you like your entertainment loud and filled to the brim with neon glo-sticks, perspiration and cheek to cheek smiles.
The Food and DrinkDoubling as a bar during the day, the club is set slap bang on the beach with the all-important great ocean view and is a favourite stopping place for the summer tourists who want to quench their thirst or grab a light snack, before heading back to the hotel to slap on the aftersun. It’s not much different to all the other bars when the sun’s up, but come nighttime, the endless queues are evidence enough that there’s something special about this club.
The Last WordBrighton's queen bees of clubbing swarm to the honeyclub every night of the week and if it's good enough for them, it's certainly sweet enough for you.
