The ViewBrighton Review
As a chain, Po Na Na was originally best known for its Moroccan themed clubs. However, as you'd expect in Brighton, there's nothing about this club that conforms to a chain club's expectations. Po Na Na Brighton is doing things its own way.The VenueDecorated with what looks like parts of a wooden totem pole and blow up palm trees in every corner, Po Na Na Brighton seems more Hawaiian than Moroccan in influence. This doesn’t quite match up with the house music policy that's generally in full swing at weekends but nobody seems to care.
The PeoplePo Na Na is a large, open spaced club that attracts a mix of Brighton residents from young indie kid students to an older, more polished clubber which works well in creating a tolerant, friendly atmosphere.
The MusicAs with most clubs in Brighton, the music policy at Po Na Na is generally house - from funky stuff to get you strutting along to the harder variety that encourages limbs to flail and heads to nod.
The DrinkAlthough nothing out of the ordinary when it comes to its drinks selection, the staff at Po Na Na do take care when making your drink and there is a wide enough selection of spirits and an equally large list of beers to lubricate the night nicely.
The Last WordPo Na Na is a safe option when it comes to clubbing in Brighton. It's never going to be spectacular but it's always going to be reliably good.
