The ViewBrighton Review
Gemini is stuffed to the seams during the summer months with table after table on the seafront packed for alfresco drinking from afternoon to evening. The VenueLike all of the bars along the seafront, Gemini is subject to seasonal swings. With its large white terrace with lots of tables and benches outside (seating hundreds of people), it benefits from its sea views, a prime location at the end of a run of bars and a suntrap location. The bar is licensed till midnight and there's live music on the patio every weekend. It's table service only and most winters Gemini undergoes a refurb so it's looking fresh again come the summer.
The PeopleThe bronzed and the beautiful of Brighton residents rock up here early and stay all day, lazily hailing passers-by to catch up on gossip and invite them to join their table for a pitcher or two. This is exactly what Brighton socialising is all about and the hours swim by smoothly thanks to friendly table service.
The Food and DrinkDraught beers include Kronenbourg, Fosters and John Smiths and there are jugs of cocktails available including Pimms, Sex On The Beach and Woo Woo for around £12.00 which are refreshing despite the fact that they're never going to win any awards for attention to detail. Bottles of wine, beer and Champagne are also on offer. As for the new food menu, it includes chicken dishes and Aberdeen Angus beef burgers which are perfect for lining the stomach in between drinks.
The Last WordGemini is deservedly one of the seafront's most popular bars which makes the most of that all important location, location, location.
