The ViewBrighton Review
It's a shame that this independent bar feels so much like a chain bar. Lacking in any true Brighton soul it makes up for it in fun events. The VenuePreviously the Tiger Bar, More opened two years ago and is an independently run modern bar in a prime location opposite the rather pleasant enclosed garden of Pelham Square. It’s a large space filled with a scattering of sofas and lots of tables and chairs for eating. In the evening the lighting is subdued and there's live music on Saturdays and tango lessons on Sundays.
The PeoplePopular with students and tourists, there's nothing desperately wrong with More but it could do with more soul and more personality to reflect the fun people it tends to attract.
The Food and DrinkFood is a big part of the deal at More with falafels, burgers, pasta and the like costing anything from £4 to £12. Draught beers include Kronenbourg, San Miguel and Guinness and there's a good selection of bottled beers including the popular Desperado (made with tequila).
The Last WordMore is in a good location and as an independent bar, care is taken over every little detail. However, if they loosened their grip slightly, the end result could be a cool, laidback bar brimming with personality. Until then, arrive prepared to inject your own.
