When a bar has a restaurant that has got Gordon Ramsay's seal of approval you know it's worth checking out.

The Venue
Gordon Ramsay is a regular at the restaurant whenever he’s in town and since its arrival Pintxo People has single-handedly upped the stakes in the Brighton bar and food arena. Set up by a four-handed team which includes the guys behind the Zeta Bar at The Hilton Park Lane, Pintxo People houses a Basque tapas bar on the ground floor with a restaurant upstairs. It has a green and glass facade and inside there's a dark grey colour scheme with a black tiled bar and a wood and black and white tiled floor. There are big communal chunky dining tables for drinking and eating. Upstairs is a slick and chic cocktail bar next to the beautifully decked out restaurant.

The People
Brighton's most stylish set drop by for cocktails throughout the week before moving on to the restaurant for dinner. For late twenty and thirty-somethings this is the bar of choice on Western Road and it's easy to see why.

The Food and Drink
There's Cruzcampo lager on draught and lots of bottles of (mainly Spanish) wine and a range of sherries and liqueurs ideal for washing down the modern Spanish tapas dishes which include classics such as Russian salad, tortilla and patatas bravas, as well as exquisitely cooked tuna, all under the aegis of the brilliant head chef Miguel Jensen who has already been nominated for a Michelin star. There is a bigger bar attached to the restaurant upstairs where mixologist Tobias works his magic with the cocktails.

The Last Word
Pintxo People is one of the main reasons why Western Road has taken over as the place to be in Brighton.
