The venue One of the smallest pubs in Brighton, the place has recently had a bit of a refurb, which included the installing of an awning out the front of the building for al fresco seating for around 16 people. Indeed the smoking ban has done this place a favour as it did get very smoke-filled before. Inside it’s very traditional with its wooden floorboards and chunky wood tables and chairs. It’s run by a father and son team who are friendly and stock good quality beers. Food served from midday till 2.45pm. There’s also live blues and jazz. The drink Being a Shepherd’s Neame pub there’s Asahi, Oranjeboom, Holsten Pils, Strongbow and Guinness on tap, as well as Kent’s Best, Spitfire and a seasonal ale on rotation. In bottles there’s Beck’s, Budweiser and Corona. The last word A very welcoming little place that has benefitted from the smoking ban.
