The ViewBrighton Review
The revamped Queens Arms is still tastefully tacky and it's all part of its appeal after all you can't sing along to Dancing Queen in beige surroundings. The VenueThe Queens Arms has been revamped and now boasts a new air conditioning system, a mini dancefloor and a new blue and gold carpet sporting the bar’s logo. It’s also been repainted outside and in with a blue and gold colour scheme and there's now a large LCD screen and smaller screens mainly showing music videos. The Queens Arms back bar has been transformed into The Starr Light Lounge. If you want to be entertained then this is the place - there's some sort of entertainment every night of the week from cabaret to karaoke. If you're after a calmer time then you're better off visiting during the day when you can relax and read a newspaper over a coffee.
The PeopleThe crowd at the Queens Arms has plenty of razzle dazzle and there are no shy and retiring wallflowers here. Splattered in sequins they belt out the showstoppers and karaoke classics.
The Food and DrinkCarling, Carlsberg, Stella Artois, Grolsch, Guinness and Strongbow are on tap, while in bottles there’s Budweiser, Becks, Holsten Pils, Magners, Newcastle Brown and Kalibur. As far as wine goes, there are five whites and four reds, two roses and two types of Champagne. The drinks aren't that sophisticated but you'll be having too much fun to care.
The Last WordIf you fancy releasing your inner dancing queen then this is a great place to cut loose. A lively bar that's always entertaining.
