The ViewBrighton Review
Hanover residents are big fans of friendly local pubs and the Sir Charles Napier certainly doesn't disappoint. The VenueThe Sir Charles Napier in Hanover is a quality affair that's perfectly suited to the neighbourhood. It's a small, traditional, cosy street-corner pub which is part-carpeted and part-wooden floored and this divide between old fashioned and more up-to-date styling is reflective of the diverse crowd it appeals to. The beer garden out the back is particularly popular and the area is partially covered with a big umbrella whilst gas heaters take the chill off the air in colder months.
The PeopleLocals one and all, chances are every time you pop into the Sir Charles Napier you'll stop a different neighbour to stop and pass the time of day with.
The Food and DrinkFosters, Staropramen, Guinness, Strongbow, London Pride, Discovery, HSB plus alternating guest ales are all on tap. In bottles there's plenty of choice too including Budvar, Holsten Pils, Newcastle Brown, Bulmers, Peroni and Leffe, and there's a solid selection of wine too. However, this is no gastro pub - the only concession the Sir Charles Napier makes to food is a splendid roast on Sundays.
The Last WordA decent local pub which is both well run and well stocked, if you live in Hanover the Sir Charles Napier makes a very fine local.
