The Venue
Known as much for its food as its drink, The Sussex Yeoman is just up the road from the main station drag. It has burgundy walls and big wooden tables that you'll often be asked to budge up and share. It attracts a loyal local crowd that includes several families thanks to its excellent food.

The People
As children are welcome there are plenty of families particularly on weekends but it's also popular with commuters and students which makes for a nice friendly mix of personalities.

The Food and Drink
On tap there's Old Speckled Hen, Hoegaarden, Budweiser, Fosters, Strongbow and Guinness, plus many other bottled beers and ciders. There's also a decent range of wine by the bottle and glass to accompany the food. If you can't make time during the week, don't miss the Sunday roasts which have become the stuff of legend.
