The new look Juggler is pulling out all the stops to contend with serious competition on Western Road and it's happy hours and non-stop entertainment now make this pub a serious contender.

The Venue
On the corner of Brunswick Street East and Western Road the recently made-over Juggler holds court. There are four metal tables and chairs outside and indoors it's done out in predictable but not unappealing chunky tables and chairs standing on top of stripped wooden floors. So far so beige. However, non-stop promotions and entertainment ensure that this is no bland affair. Happy hour runs from 3pm-7pm Sunday to Friday, drawing in the city's students and there are DJs on a Friday night (when it's open till 2am). But that's not all. From open mic nights to pub bingo plus screens beaming out all the biggest live sports matches, The Juggler never stops entertaining its punters.

The People
Anyone up for a good time ends up at The Juggler eventually although it does tend to be students spending the remnants of their grants and hard up young professionals who are just clinging on to the first rung of the ladder - if you're older than this then prepare to feel your age and then some. Until it comes to match day that is, when every sports fan within a ten mile radius seems to come out of the woodwork.

The Food and Drink
The only food the pub runs to is bar snacks so make sure that you line your stomach before heading here for a long night of drinking. Kronenbourg, Kronenbourg Blanc and San Miguel are some of the lagers on draught, as well as John Smiths, London Pride, Guinness, Strongbow and Westons Organic. Tiger, Corona and Budvar add variety to the bottled beers but this is more a pints than posh cocktails pub so if fruit in your drink is a compulsion you may be better off heading elsewhere.

The Last Word
A decent enough boozer that never stops trying to entertain the punters and is always a reliable option when drinking on Western Road.
