The ViewBrighton Review
A favourite with Brightonians of all ages, its Lanes location and easygoing charm make this pub hard to resist when it comes to picking out a regular watering hole. The VenueBright and sunny (you can only hope) by day and atmospheric by night, The Coach House is an extremely pleasant pub by anyone's standards. The entrance is through an archway via a delightful courtyard by the side of the building, which has tables and chairs, hanging flower pots and is semi-covered by a retractable canopy.
It's all very rustic indoors too: the floor is made up of stone and wood, the walls are a combination of wood-panelling and exposed brickwork and the atmosphere friendly and inviting.
The PeopleTrendy twenty-somethings can't get enough of the Coach House early evening whilst later on in the evening older couples sit down to a civilised meal after the happy hour crowd have moved on.
The Food and DrinkHoegaarden with lemon and lime is a favourite tipple here and other beers on draught include Boddingtons, Staropramen, Stella Artois, Hoegaarden and Guinness. There's a good selection of red and white wines too, from cheap and cheerful plonk to splash out celebratory bottles of the good stuff. Happy hour is from 5pm-7pm. Expect to pay in the region of £11-£15 for a main course, which options including free range lamb, seafood, pork belly, salmon fishcakes and steaks. There are also burgers and sarnies for a lighter lunch.
The Last WordA great place to come whether it's for a drink or for great food. Sunny and welcoming in the summer and cosy and rustic in the winter, The Coach House is an all year round winner.
