Everyone from the health conscious to chocolate lovers will find something to whet their appetite at this funky, organic cafe.

The Venue
The two storey cafe follows in the tradition of the Infinity Foods shop which has been providing organic food to businesses across South East England for over thirty years. The busy downstairs area includes a few tables and bar stools for those in a rush who can't face climbing stairs, while the spaced out seating upstairs offers a more relaxing experience for customers who want to combine eating and drinking with people watching on busy Gardner Street in the North Laines below. For art connoisseurs, there is a selection of photography for sale, which adorns the upstairs’ walls.

The Atmosphere
The cafe attracts predominantly health-conscious and independent thinking customers. While families tend to dominate downstairs, upstairs seems to cater more for solo diners, business workers on lunch and students. Friendly staff are swift with the drinks service, and can bring hot meals to your table. There is an informal cafe vibe regarding food ordering and your name will be called and your food brought up to you. There are no place settings, so customers help themselves to the utensils and napkins when they order. The wooden chairs and tables reflect the simple ingredients Infinity customers expect in their food and the cafe encourages conversation as its quiet, ambient music is merely a subtle backdrop.

The Food
Those looking for breakfast, lunch or just a snack will find themselves well-catered for at Infinity. You can create your own salads and sandwiches, with a wide range of dressings and variety of organic breads to choose from. For those wanting a less savoury experience, there is a vast selection of cakes, which are all organic and locally produced. Most impressive of all, is the labelling system in operation, which clearly indicates which cakes are gluten-free, wheat-free, vegan, etc. The toasted ciabatta with garlic, cheesy mushrooms makes a tasty afternoon snack and comes with a yummy green leaf salad and dressing. Infinity also offers a childrens menu to cater for health-conscious families.

The Drink
Amongst the selection of hot and cold drinks, the organic Green and Blacks hot chocolate stands out as a luxurious, slightly healthy alternative to the average cafe hot chocolate. Upon the first sip, there is no mistaking the unique Green and Blacks ingredient in the drink. There is also a selection of freshly-squeezed juices for kids.

The Last Word
Infinity is a good choice for those who want to eat good food without having to worry about the consequences to local businesses or the planet afterwards.
